Gluten-Free Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

  • For the Apple Filling:
    • 6 cups sliced apples (peeled)
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
    • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • For the Crisp Topping:
    • 1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
    • 1/2 cup gluten-free flour blend
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Filling: In a large bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Transfer to a greased 9×9 baking dish.
  2. Make Topping: In another bowl, mix oats, gluten-free flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cold butter and cut it into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Assemble & Bake: Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40-45 minutes, until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbly.
  4. Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
