Gluten-Free Apple Crisp
Ingredients:
- For the Apple Filling:
- 6 cups sliced apples (peeled)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- For the Crisp Topping:
- 1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
- 1/2 cup gluten-free flour blend
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
Instructions:
- Prepare Filling: In a large bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Transfer to a greased 9×9 baking dish.
- Make Topping: In another bowl, mix oats, gluten-free flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cold butter and cut it into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Assemble & Bake: Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40-45 minutes, until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbly.
- Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
